The Citicorp is a building that is attractive to the eyes. Just by looking many left that the building was a strong, sturdy creation. A student that was studying the structures of the building realized that strong wind force was enough to blow down the entire building. This individual claim was that the building was vulnerable to quartering winds. The Citicorp building’s major flaw is that it could be easily destroyed by strong winds. If a hurricane touch down, then the building will completely be knocked down. When a storm was approaching there was thousands of Red Cross volunteers and evacuation plan ready incase of any destruction. All of this was kept a secret at first. One day someone by the name of Joe Morgenstern who is a writer overheard the secret being discussed at a party and broke the story to the public. Once the secret was out the student who discovered the flaw came forward and spoke with one of LeMessurier staffers. Before the documentary the student did not know that her thesis had caused any impact regarding the recheck of the Citicorp building. It was until the documentary was made public before Hartley (the student who discovered the flaw) knew what she discovered was important.
