The section I will be talking about is research for inspiration and details. This two sections are the ones that I use the most when writing a paper. Melissa used examples like newspapers and local phone book to describe “research for inspiration”. The examples she proves shows how just by reading what other wrote could stimulate something greater than one could ever think of. Towards the end Melissa asked questions like “what would she know about you or be able to interpret?” and what would someone be able to interpret about the lives around you? These are great questions in my opinion because while writing you must think about why you or writing about this topic and how your writing could leave an impact on someone else. On the other hand, Melissa used examples like field guide and dictionaries to describe research for details. She then went further and asked questions like “how large would a person have to be to not fit into a regularly sized casket” and “how large to be too cremate?” Questions like these are often times not common knowledge and needs some research to be answered. When writing my own paper, I do a lot of research for details. It is a way for me to learn more about the topic I am writing about. For my flyer and Instagram, I used “research for details” and for the t-shirt I used research for enriching memories. These form of research worked out best for the purpose each genre.
