It made me very interested in listening to the rest of the podcast. With him telling his personal stories in a humorous way it grabbed my attention more. It also made me feel more relax listening to something so tragic.
No, I do not agree with the policy that says the caller must ask for help prior to receiving help. The reason I feel this way is because sometimes people do not know how to ask for help. There are times when they just want someone to be the one that actually asks them do they need help.
This podcast is related to the research paper I am doing. The interview that I had to do with an individual in the community that my paper is about is similar to this podcast. In both my one-on-one interview and the interview in this podcast there where questions being asked. These questions allowed the person doing the interview to have a clearer understanding of the person being interviewed feelings and experience. I was able to connect with Brian when the person he was interviewing went silent. When she had gone silent Brian was taken off guard. While I was doing my interview Misha had a few long silent pauses after certain questions. I did not know whether I should repeat the question or just remain silent until she answered. I went with my mind and just gave her time to answer on her own timing. Now listening to the podcast I felt like I did the right thing. Brian boss told everyone to "just shut up and listen", which is exactly what I did.
