Heyoon/Mother Tongue

For many years Alex felt like a misfit until his friends introduced him to a secret place called “Heyoon”. The only way to enter Heyoon is if someone brought you there. It’s located in the middle of nowhere with fences and multiple signs telling everyone to keep out. Alex and his friends did not obey the statements on the signs. They gathered at Heyoon occasionally to drink, smoke pot and talk about life.

Discussions of time and place important in this episode because it gives listeners a visual of how secretive the location of Heyoon really is. The time shows the gap from the time Heyoon was built to the time it was discovered by Alex to the time when Alex contacted the owner.

Personal narratives and research papers are both writings that include information about a specific topic. The difference is Personal narratives includes information solely from the author while research papers contain sources to support the claim.

The "englishes" I use in my writing is "simple." I try to follow the rules of English even though it could be hard at times due to the fact that I speak another langue and the English rules are different.

The different "englishes" Amy tan describes are simple, broken, and watered down.They impact different parts of her life by allowing her to communicate effectively with whoever she is trying to communicate too. There are times when the style of how you write or talk has to be altered base on who your audience is so what you are saying can be easily understood by others.
