I believe that including all three acts allow listeners to understand the process of the claim. It shows how the claim came about, what other thinks and the different views. If I was giving a chance I would ask my mom what was her life-like growing up and what was one event that changed her life forever. I don’t think about if there is another life beyond what we know. I feel like this is an ongoing discussion so I try not to get caught up with all the suspensions. My favorite question that Rosie asked was “Do you understand the difference between telling him what you want and demanding him to do what you want?” This shows me that you have to explain to someone what you want because your partner does not think like you.
The prologue
David is someone who is passionate to know more about if there is another life out there. When he looks in the sky with his four-year-old son he sees nothing. He then starts to believe that space is an empty place. He also starts to believe that space is a dangerous place that no one could really see.
Act one
David decided to take the matter into his own hand and try to put bits and pieces together to understand “where is everybody”. He strongly felt like this was a serious topic that needed to be looked at. David met up with his old physics teacher to see if she could hear him out. He went with the intention that she would relate to some of the things he’s saying. Not too shocking, when David told his professor that he believes that we are alone she gave him the same reaction as everyone else. Melissa, David former professor, asked David more questions to see what David is trying to say. She then came up with different possibilities of what could of happen to the existing life of others. The discuss grew so Melissa decided to add Paul who is another professor to the discussion.
Act two
The podcast at this point begins to incorporate marriage in what is going on. A marriage therapist agreed to be interviewed. This therapist had her own podcast. She would record her session (with her patience consent). A session that stood out the most was a couple who had been married for forty years and then found out that her husband cheated on her. The connection between the therapy session and David quest is that what people know could alter the way people see things.
