1. Brainstorm Topic Ideas: Read, Talk, Sketch, Enjoy
-This section talked about steps writers should take before they conduct their writing. It also gave useful advice on how to narrow down one's topic selection. I loved how the author provided readers with examples of both free writing and mind map. Those examples helped me choose which method better suit me. I believe the one that works for me is free writing. Free writing is a way for me to get down everything I am thinking about on paper without forgetting anything that might be significant to my topic. Form this section takes away the keyway on how to refine my search for a topic to write about. I learned that talking to others about my topic could be a good way for me to better my writing. The best way to choose a topic is to search up information that relates to the topic. One way to avoid choosing a topic/ research question that you already know the answer to is to make a list of questions that are related to the topic/ research question that you don't know the answer too. If you could answer the majority of the questions, then that topic might not be the best topic for you.
The topics that are topic candidates for my research paper are the human hair extension, bold fashion, and college professional dancing. All are communities that I am apart of. I would like to conduct a research paper centered around one of the three.
